Wilson Goes Off, But Ducks Win
|
The Fresno State Bulldogs got a sterling performance from designated hitter Bobby Wilson, but the Ducks still prevailed, 10-8. Wilson was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Ducks bumped their record to 14-11 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when catcher Matt Bourque, who is rated as the 63rd best prospect by BNN, drew a walk. The Ducks went on to win.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Oregon skipper Mark Patrick.
