Gamecocks Walk Off with Win
The South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Iowa State Cyclones, 8-6, in 11 innings. South Carolina designated hitter Matt DeMaria merited player of the game honors with his performance. He went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. South Carolina reliever Zaire Weekes was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Nick Swanson took the loss. The Gamecocks bumped their record to 13-12 with this latest triumph.

DeMaria had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 11th. On a 2-2 cutter from Nick Swanson, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Gamecocks a 8-6 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for DeMaria.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said South Carolina skipper Orlando Torres.
