Cowboys Top Gamecocks to Even Record

The Oklahoma State Cowboys defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks, 4-1, in Skip Bertman League action at Canaries Ballpark, with Oklahoma State pitcher Mark Doggett named player of the game. Reliever Justin Gilmore picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Jeremy Simpson took the loss. Billy Boyd finished to wrap up his 6th save.
Karl Odom hit a bases-clearing triple off Jeremy Simpson in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Cowboys in front, 4-1. Odom had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Odom told the Oklahoma State Herald.
The Cowboys bumped their record to 12-12 with this latest triumph.
