Mitchell Helps Colonials Run Win Streak to 4
The New England Colonials beat the Portland Beavers, 6-2, at Waterfront Park. New England first baseman Jeff Mitchell earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kenny Allen converted his 2nd save in 2 tries. The 5th-place Colonials have won 4 straight games.

Mitchell had a big at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the top of the first inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Colonials went on to win.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Mitchell told the New England Bulletin.
