Yellow Jackets Get Road Win, 8-5
|
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets powered past the Miami Hurricanes, 8-5, at Gremlins Ballpark. Tommy Buford went 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3, to lead the charge. Georgia Tech reliever Sam Capasso picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Josh Forseth absorbed the loss. Picking up the save was Steven Wood, his 2nd.
Chris Raney hit a run-scoring triple off Josh Forseth in the top of the first, which put the Yellow Jackets in front, 1-0. Raney had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Raney.
The Hurricanes, at 6-17, have lost 9 in a row.
