Sycamores Walk Off with Win
|
The Indiana State Sycamores bested the Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 4-3, with shortstop Gary Skinner getting the main credit. On the day, Skinner was 3-7 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Sycamores. Indiana State reliever Daniel Farley picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chris Noonan absorbed the loss. The Sycamores bumped their record to 15-8 with this latest triumph.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the 13th inning. With two out and a runner on 1st, the batter, Sam Ibarra, hit a single. It helped Indiana State seize the win.
"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Philip Lilly, the Indiana State skipper.
