Tar Heels Lose, 6-3, at Cypress Quarters College Grounds
|
The Wake Forest Demon Deacans topped the North Carolina Tar Heels by the score of 6-3, with the largest share of the credit going to first baseman Matt Russell. Russell was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Demon Deacans. Wake Forest has now won 3 in a row.
Russell had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-2 fastball from Mike Winter, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Demon Deacans a 3-2 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Russell.
