Tar Heels Topple Yellow Jackets with Late Rally
The North Carolina Tar Heels beat the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 6-4, at Bruisers Ballpark. The Tar Heels got a fine performance from third baseman Jason Leadbeater, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The win was Larry Quimby's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Toby Hinkle took the loss for Georgia Tech. Josh Huntsman locked down his 6th save.

Leadbeater had a game-changing single in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-2 knuckle curve from Toby Hinkle, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Tar Heels a 5-4 lead. It was the 29th hit of the year for Leadbeater.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Leadbeater. "And not try to do too much."

The 15th-place Yellow Jackets have lost 4 straight games.
