Commodores Topple Wolverines with Late Rally

Getting a good performance from right fielder Jason Valentine, the Vanderbilt Commodores defeated the Michigan Wolverines, 3-2. Valentine was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Commodores. Vanderbilt reliever Kyle Harless was the winner. His record is now 1-0. James Arnold took the loss. Vanderbilt is now 12-9, Michigan 10-11.
Jay Michael's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a fastball from James Arnold for a solo home run. It put Vanderbilt in front, 3-2.
Michael told a Vanderbilt News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
