Tigers Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Georgia Tech
|
Spirited fans at Castles Ballpark greeted the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for their clash with the Auburn Tigers.
Auburn right-hander Bill Schindler pitched his team to victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Castles Ballpark. The final score was 6-3. The winning pitcher was Schindler, now 1-1. He tossed 5 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 3. Allen Westmoreland, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
In the top of the 6th, third baseman Nick Lilley gave Auburn the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Tigers had been trailing 3-1, but the two-out home run off Georgia Tech pitcher Sam Capasso changed that -- and Auburn went on to win.
"Enjoyed this one," Schindler told the Auburn Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Even with the win, the Tigers have a dismal 7-13 record.
