Trojans Bang Out 8-2 Win Versus Oregon
|
It was a good time at Nesquehoning College Fields, where fans came to watch the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans get after it.
Chris Whatley left his imprint on the 8-2 USC win against the Oregon Ducks. Whatley, who leads the RDL in doubles with 10, was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. USC starter Keith Hamrock was credited with the win after throwing 80 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 1-1.
Marty Schellenger drew 2 walks in 4 plate appearances for USC. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Justin Mommaerts. It was his 8th walk of the season.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Schellenger.
The Trojans bumped their record to 12-8 with this latest triumph.
