The Iowa State Cyclones stopped the Clemson Tigers, 5-4, at Forney College Grounds. The Cyclones got a big game from David Gold, who went 2-2 with 2 home runs and 3 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The Cyclones, at 10-9, have now won 4 straight.

Gold had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the 11th. On a full count cutter from Larry Martin, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Cyclones a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Gold.
