The Arkansas Razorbacks scored a 4-3 win versus the Alabama Crimson Tide at Titans Ballpark. Arkansas pitcher Tony Reed nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Arkansas reliever John Fulmer got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Josh Vandall was tagged with the loss. Sean Bonin picked up the save for Arkansas, his 4th of the year.
The Razorbacks got a big at-bat from designated hitter Andrew Taylor. For the game, Taylor went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 23rd hit of the season gave Arkansas a 4-3 lead.
Taylor told a Arkansas Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
After today's action, Arkansas sits at 8-11, while Alabama falls to 12-7.
