Bulldogs Lose, 5-2, at Bruisers Ballpark
|
The North Carolina Tar Heels racked up a win at Bruisers Ballpark, bumping off the Georgia Bulldogs, 5-2. Mike Winter, who started for North Carolina, pitched effectively for his team. Winter got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Winter allowed 2 earned runs. Josh Huntsman picked up the save for North Carolina, his 5th of the year.
North Carolina left fielder Jesse Strozewski contributed to the cause with a double in the bottom of the second. For the game, Strozewski went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs.
"I thought we played a nice game," Winter told the North Carolina News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The Tar Heels bumped their record to 13-6 with this latest triumph.
