Longhorns Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Houston
|
The Texas Longhorns topped the Houston Cougars, 6-4, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Ballpark of Celebration College. The player of the game was Texas pitcher Bob Shore. Shore, now 2-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. The Longhorns bumped their record to 10-8 with this latest triumph.
Jerry Jaeger, who is rated as the 78th best prospect by BNN, aided the Texas cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the second. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk in 5 trips to the plate.
