Maynard drives in 3 runs as Salukis Squeeze Past Oklahoma State

In a tight contest at Canaries Ballpark, the South Illinois Salukis edged the Oklahoma State Cowboys by the score of 5-4. South Illinois designated hitter Chris Maynard, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Earning his 4th save for South Illinois was Mike Baker. South Illinois is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Had Ryan Egan not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Egan hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Salukis.
"Winning is contagious," said Egan. "We're looking forward to the next game."
