Biernacki Shines in Commodores Win
A 4-RBI performance from the 21-year old third baseman Brent Biernacki helped the Vanderbilt Commodores beat the Virginia Cavaliers, 5-2. Reliever Steve Higgins picked up the win. His record improves to 3-1. Cesar Reyes took the loss. Earning his 8th save for Vanderbilt was Jimmy Gregus.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when center fielder J.P. Duncan, who is the 5th-best prospect in the Commodores organization, hit a single. The Commodores went on to win.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Biernacki told the Vanderbilt News.

The Commodores bumped their record to 10-7 with this latest triumph.
