Gamble Excels, But Rebels Win
The Ole Miss Rebels defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs, 12-9. Earning player of the game honors was right fielder Mike Gamble, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3. Cody Clayton was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. Sean Truskowski earned the save, his 1st, for the Rebels.

Ole Miss used the timely hitting of William Horst to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the second inning to put the Rebels on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Bobby Wynn.

With the victory, the Rebels record now stands at 6-10.
