Pitcher Travis Knauss was sensational for the Florida Gators in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Georgia Bulldogs. Knauss received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Knauss, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 2 walks. Adam Stoltzfus earned the save, his 6th, for the Gators.

Rich Monroe aided the Florida cause with a solo home run in the top of the second. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk.
