Cyclones Get Road Win, 7-3
|
Ben Wollney helped his team muscle past the Vanderbilt Commodores, 7-3. In the game, the Iowa State catcher went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. At 7-9, the Cyclones find themselves in 15th place in the Ron Fraser Division.
Wollney contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Iowa State in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Wollney took a fastball from Kyle Rucci and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Cyclones to leap in front, 3-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Wollney said.
