The Brooklyn Black Knights wiggled past the Portland Beavers, 4-3, at Waterfront Park. Brooklyn third baseman Tsuneyo Nakagawa earned player of the game honors. Brooklyn reliever Cong Foong was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Olivier Martin. The third-place Beavers have lost 4 straight games.
Late-game drama came in the top of the tenth inning. With no one out and the bases empty, the batter, David Ramírez, hit a single. It helped Brooklyn seize the win.
