Seminoles Clip Salukis in Tight Contest
|
The Seminoles had to overcome a fine performance from South Illinois pitcher Jim Thomazin to grab a 6-5 win at Ballpark of Riverdale College. Thomazin allowed no earned runs over 5.1 innings. The Seminoles are now 6-8, while the Salukis fall to 6-8.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Florida State right fielder Walt Muller, facing Bobby Baxter, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Seminoles the 6-5 win.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Muller told the Florida State Gazette.
