Armada Lose to Pioneers, 4-2
|
Vancouver right-hander Dan Miscavage made an effective start against the Quebec Armada at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, leading his team to a 4-2 win. Miscavage, now 3-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 2 earned runs. Munemori Abe, credited with the save, is now 13 for 17 in save opportunities.
Ruben Torres, who is on pace to hit 44 home runs this season, aided the Vancouver cause with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Torres attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The 4th-place Pioneers improved to 30-37.
