Hops Win in Extras
The San Diego Hops defeated the Portland Beavers, 21-11, in Roberto Clemente League action at Waterfront Park, with San Diego first baseman Alexandru Curticapeanu named player of the game. Losses have been few and far between for the Beavers, who are now 5-2.

Curticapeanu had a game-changing home run in the top of the 12th. On a 2-1 fastball from Alberto Ramírez, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Hops a 11-10 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Curticapeanu.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Randy England.
