McDonald Slugs Tigers to 6-3 Win
|
The Clemson Tigers knocked off the Vanderbilt Commodores, 6-3, at Ballpark of Barrow College. Troy McDonald, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Clemson won. The second baseman slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Rich Tygart picked up the save for Clemson, his 1st of the year. The Tigers bumped their record to 7-7 with this latest triumph.
Jeff Leitzel helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 3-run home run to give Clemson a 3-0 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Leitzel told the Clemson Herald.
