Victory Pushes Aggies Record to 7-6
|
It was a fun time at Sooners Ballpark, where the UCLA Bruins and Texas A&M Aggies tangled.
Texas A&M first baseman Tony LaFore was a significant contributor in his team's 8-6 triumph over the UCLA Bruins. He was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for Texas A&M. Casey Beach got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Bruins to 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. Pete Golding finished the game for Texas A&M and earned his 3rd save.
The Aggies got a big at-bat from shortstop Jake Parker. For the game, Parker was 2-5 with a double, while adding 4 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 19th hit of the season gave Texas A&M a 2-1 lead.
"We got the victory," said LaFore. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
The 'W' lifts Texas A&M's record to 7-6.
