A 3-RBI performance from right fielder Mike Gamble, who leads the RDL in runs scored with 17, led the Mississippi State Bulldogs to a 8-6 win over the South Mississippi Golden Eagles. The Bulldogs, now 7-3, have won 4 in a row.

Gamble had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count fastball from Bob Chamberlain, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Bulldogs a 8-6 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Gamble.

"I like the roll we're on," said Mississippi State manager Carlton Price.
