Titans Clip Golden Bears in Tight Contest
|
Zach Hicks was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the California Golden Bears. The designated hitter went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times for the Cal State Fullerton Titans. Cal State Fullerton reliever Eric Clark picked up the win to move to 1-0. Marcus Huley suffered the loss. Doug Gorski earned save number 3.
Jeremy Gregory went 1 for 3 with a walk for Cal State Fullerton. The 21-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Marcus Huley. It was his 2nd walk of the season.
"I felt good up there," said Gregory. "I saw the ball well."
The Titans are off to a tough start, getting just their 3rd win in 9 games.
