5 Straight Wins for Crimson Tide
|
The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Vanderbilt Commodores, 4-1, in Skip Bertman League action at Titans Ballpark, with Alabama left fielder Mike Wesseler named player of the game. Ben West earned save number 1. Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Crimson Tide hope to make a postseason run.
The Crimson Tide got a big at-bat from shortstop Tommie Parsons. For the game, Parsons was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Alabama a 3-1 lead.
"It was a solid team effort," said Parsons after the game.
