Cozart Delivers Clutch At-Bat for New England in Walk-Off Win
|
The New England Colonials sent the home crowd home smiling from Skellington Stadium.
New England beat San Diego at Skellington Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to right fielder Jon Pittman, who earned player of the game honors. The Colonials are now 27-40, while the Hops fall to 26-42.
The Colonials got a big at-bat from shortstop Gil Cozart. For the game, Cozart was 1-4 with a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 66th hit of the season gave New England a 4-3 lead.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Cozart said.
