Fresno State Bulldogs starter Mike True was in fine form against the UCLA Bruins at Ballpark of Shiprock College, leading his team to a 5-3 win. Fresno State reliever Danny Jensen was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Jonathan Frias. The Bulldogs, now 5-2, have been on a roll in the early going.

The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from right fielder Jimmy Landry. For the game, Landry went 1-1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Fresno State a 5-3 lead.
