Tigers Prevail, 3-2, Over Florida
|
The Tigers had to overcome a good performance from Florida pitcher Glen Nusz to claim a 3-2 win at Magistrates Ballpark. Nusz went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Tigers, now 5-2, have been on a roll in the early going.
Had Troy McDonald not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, McDonald hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Tigers.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," McDonald said.
