Despite a great performance by Louisiana-Layfayette left fielder Matt Brooks, the Tulane Green Wave defeated the Ragin Cajuns by the score of 8-7 at Field of the Dukes. Brooks was 2 for 2 with 2 home runs and 3 walks, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Troy King earned save number 1. With the win, Tulane boosts its record to 3-3.

Pete Koehn's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a cutter from Phil Wiseman for a run-scoring single. It put Tulane in front, 8-7.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Tulane field general Carlos Garza.
