Hoene Stars for 49'ers in 13-7 Win
The Long Beach State 49'ers topped the USC Trojans, 13-7, in Rod Dedeaux League action at Nesquehoning College Fields. The player of the game was Long Beach State first baseman Chase Hoene. The 49'ers, with just their 2nd win so far in 2034, have yet to catch fire.

With Long Beach State leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Hoene hit a fastball from Chris Sager for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the 49'ers ahead, 5-0.

"Winning is the only thing that really matters," Hoene told the Long Beach State Gazette. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
