Commodores Get Road Win, 3-2
|
Benefiting from Jason Valentine's productive game, the Vanderbilt Commodores downed the Auburn Tigers, 3-2. Valentine went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Commodores. Jimmy Gregus earned the save for Vanderbilt, his 3rd of the year. The loss lowers the Auburn record to 1-5.
Valentine had a big at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Commodores went on to win.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Vanderbilt manager Álex Negrón. "Our pregame was pretty good."
