Salukis Get Close Win Over Demon Deacans
|
The South Illinois Salukis finished things off in style today at Field of the Shield.
South Illinois rode a decent outing from starter Sean Lawson to victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacans at Field of the Shield. The final score was 3-2. The Salukis raised their record to 4-1.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With South Illinois trailing 2-1, Chris Maynard hit a sinker from Vic Horn to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Salukis had a walk-off win.
Maynard told a South Illinois Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
