Yellow Jackets Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
Clemson center fielder Steve Hines had a good game, even if his team did not. The Tigers dropped a 9-4 decision to Georgia Tech at Castles Ballpark. Hines was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Georgia Tech reliever Elijah Cameron was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Julius Kendricks took the loss for Clemson. Georgia Tech, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.

The Yellow Jackets got a big at-bat from catcher Mike Backer. For the game, Backer went 1 for 5 with a double. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Georgia Tech a 3-2 lead.

Backer told a Georgia Tech Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
