Ducks Prevail, 4-2, Over Texas
|
Oregon third baseman Miguel Borrayo had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Texas Longhorns, 4-2. Eric Coates, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 1-0. Victor Bustos closed it out for his 3rd save.
Borrayo contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Oregon in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Borrayo took a fastball from John Near and stroked the home run to right. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Ducks to leap in front, 2-1.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Borrayo told the Oregon Times.
Oregon, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
