The South Illinois Salukis defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 24-11, in Skip Bertman League action at Castles Ballpark, with South Illinois first baseman Salvatore Marroquin named player of the game. South Illinois reliever Orlando Sandoval was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Chris Corrao took the loss for Georgia Tech. South Illinois goes to 3-1 with the win.
