Drake Goes Wild, But Aggies Win
|
Texas A&M withstood an impressive performance by Mississippi State left fielder Matt Drake to defeat the Bulldogs, 8-6, at Crowley College Grounds. Drake hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Lance Rosenfeld picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Justin McNair was tagged with the loss. Picking up the save was Pete Golding, his 1st.
Chaz Farris hit a 2-run double off Jay Lynch in the top of the sixth, which put the Aggies in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Farris had 1 single and 2 walks, while going 2 for 3.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Farris.
Losses have been few and far between for the Bulldogs so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.
