Drake goes 3-for-5, Bulldogs Move to 2-0
The Mississippi State Bulldogs beat the Arizona Wildcats, 12-9, at Red Wings Ballpark. The Bulldogs got a fine performance from left fielder Matt Drake, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The Bulldogs, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.

Drake had a game-changing single in the top of the sixth. On a first pitch changeup from Stephen Schuller, he banged a 2-run single to right, giving the Bulldogs a 8-7 lead. It was the 3rd hit of the year for Drake.

"We've got a great group of guys," Drake said, "and we're having fun right now."
