Bryant goes 3-for-4, Salukis Move to 2-0
|
The South Illinois Salukis beat the Georgia Bulldogs, 10-5, at Field of the Shield. The Salukis got a fine performance from center fielder Kevin Bryant, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. South Illinois reliever Cory Dorsey was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Alex Vargas took the loss. The Salukis, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.
Steve Lostracco aided the South Illinois cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the catcher went 1-3 with a hit by pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Lostracco told a South Illinois Today reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
