Demon Deacans Walk Off with Win
|
The Demon Deacans grabbed a win, 7-6, at Cypress Quarters College Grounds, overcoming a fine effort from Indiana State pitcher Dan Fram. Fram went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Wake Forest reliever Tommy Thomas was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Tyler Petru took the loss. The win leaves Wake Forest with a record of 1-1.
Wake Forest won the game in the bottom of the 15th inning. With two outs and Tyler Petru on the mound for Indiana State, left fielder Mike Moritz hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Demon Deacans fans to their feet.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Gilberto Morales.
