Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Baylor Bears home opener. David Pensabene started for the home team against Chris Durkin for the Houston Cougars. The Bears were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 7-6, Houston. Bryan Anson was named player of the game. Andre McNeal picked up the save for Houston, his 1st of the year.

Logan Bellinger drove in one run for Houston. The 20-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dexter Adams. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Bellinger, "but we got it done."
