Loss to Mustangs Extends Nichols Losing Streak
|
The San Angelo Mustangs reigned over the Nichols Gnats in damp conditions at The Pond.
San Angelo Mustangs starter Dave McCrudden pitched a strong game against the Nichols Gnats at The Pond, leading the Mustangs to a 4-2 win. Jason Graves, credited with the save, is now 15 for 16 in save opportunities.
Barry Wirfel, who is rated as the 78th best prospect by BNN, aided the San Angelo cause with a 2-run double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I had a good game plan," said McCrudden. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Clyde Bowman said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
Nichols has now lost 12 in a row.
