Mustangs Turn Back Kansas City, 6-5
|
The Mile High Mustangs knocked off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 6-5, at Debris Field. Gerard Wych, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Mile High won. The shortstop went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Drstasara Sahni picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-1. He struck out 2 in 5 innings. The Tornadoes, now 29-35, have lost 4 straight.
Dominic Wicksted aided the Mile High cause with a 2-run double in the top of the third. For the game, the left fielder went 1-5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Wych told reporters after the game.
