Victoria and Boise duked it out at The drakkar and the Vikings came out victorious.

The Victoria Vikings topped the Boise Bloodhounds, 6-4, in Lyman Bostock League action at The drakkar. The player of the game was Victoria pitcher and Chatham-Kent, Canada native Shane Jacobs. The winning pitcher was Jacobs, now 10-11. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7.

The Vikings got a big at-bat from center fielder Fernando Vera. For the game, Vera went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Victoria a 4-0 lead.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Jacobs told the Victoria News.

With the victory, the Vikings record now stands at 67-92.
