Victory Over Blizzard Takes Atlantic City to 101-58
|
Taos got a terrific game from center fielder José Moreno. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Atlantic City, 8-3. Moreno was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and was hit 2 times, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Atlantic City reliever Travis Panhorst picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jose Barraza took the loss. The first-place Kings have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
It could have been a different outcome for Atlantic City, had it not been for Duane Diamond, the 22-year old right fielder . Diamond contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Atlantic City up, 5-0.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Diamond said.
