J.G. Richard was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Bel Air and Eugene. The Princes left-hander was named the player of the game in Bel Air's 2-1 win. Richard got the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6 innings. Richard allowed 1 earned run. The first-place Princes, at 93-65, now lead their division by 5½ games.
The Princes got a big at-bat from second baseman Felix Cruz. For the game, Cruz was 1-3. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 73rd hit of the season gave Bel Air a 2-1 lead.
