Schmit K's 11 En Route to 3-2 Bombers Win
|
The South Carolina Bombers got a strong performance from pitcher Ange Schmit, who stymied the San Francisco offense en route to a 3-2 win at Bomber Ballpark. Ed Armstrong, credited with the save, is now 19 for 21 in save opportunities. The Bombers, at 36-28, sit in third place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division.
Schmit, who was born in Jérémie, Haiti, threw 107 pitches over 7.2 innings, while allowing 1 earned run.
"We squandered some opportunities," said San Francisco manager Joe Ward.
